Irish Provincial Silver Freedom Box of round oblong form, with applied Cork Coat of Arms on the lid, the border engraved with ribbon of acorns, oak leaves and roundels. The base inscribed 'The Freedom at large of the City of Cork presented by the Major, Sheriff and Common Council to Admiral Thornborough, Commander in Chief in the Irish station, in testimony of his great attention to the trade of Ireland & particularly of this city, Paul Maylor, Mayor, Rob Deane & Jonathan Bernard, Sheriffs, & W Jones, T Clerk.' by Kean Mahony of Cork, Dublin hallmarks for 1808.
