Safety check and statement.

Ribbons: We source our ribbons from FloristsuppliesUK

In Cork, our tree is erected by the City Council, and we take it over prior to the start of the project.
Other clubs arrange for their own tree either outside or indoors, and some are allocated a certain number of days at a tree which is shared with other fund raisers.

A few days before the start we spend a day organising the tree
At the top we place a metal ring around the trunk, (2 x 'D'shapes bolted together)

We hang shackles from this.
At the base we insert screw eyes into the timber fencing
We run yellow propylene strapping through the shackles and the screw eyes to male a long loop
Can be purchased from STP packaging

The ribbons are stapled to the loop and can be hoisted up the tree creating colourful garlands
